Profile Picture

Hi, I'm Teagan.

Hi, I'm Teagan, a Computer Science student at the University of South Carolina focused on software engineering and full-stack development. I enjoy taking a problem from an idea through requirements, system design, and eventually implementation. This semester, I'm leading a 5-person team developing a hurricane relief coordination system while also working as a Full Stack Engineer through Kappa Theta Pi on a real client project for Hands On Prosthetic Engineering (HOPE). My experience includes Java, Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, Node.js, Git/GitHub, UML, object-oriented programming, data structures, design patterns, and requirements engineering. I'm especially interested in opportunities where I can contribute to real software, learn from experienced engineers, and continue developing both my technical and collaborative skills. I'm currently seeking Summer 2027 software engineering internship opportunities.

Project Overview

A Java-based hurricane relief coordination system designed to connect survivors requesting aid, volunteers offering skills and resources, and elief coordinators managing response efforts. I contribute as both a Full Stack Developer and Project Manager, with my work so far focused on requirements engineering, object-oriented system design, UML modeling, and preparing the architecture for implementation.

What I've Done:

  • Authored 61 functional requirements and subrequirements covering aid requests, emergency escalation, duplicate detection, account access, credential verification, permissions, and MFA.
  • Designed and refined the system's object-oriented class architecture, defining entities, relationships, responsibilities, enums, attributes, and methods for planned Java implementation.
  • Created use-case and sequence models to validate major workflows and system interactions across survivors, volunteers, coordinators, and administrators.
  • Lead coordination for a 5-person development team while contributing directly to technical design, requirements, and architecture.

Software Requirements Specification

Comprehensive project documentation covering stakeholders, personas, system constraints, business use cases, functional and non-functional requirements, system behavior, and competitive analysis.

Highlights: Requirements Engineering, Stakeholder Analysis, UML, Functional & Non-Functional Requirements

Healthcare Management System

Palmetto Hacks 2026 · Award-Winning Hackathon Project

Camellia is an AI-powered healthcare platform designed to connect fragmented patient records, identify potentially overlooked clinical concerns, and improve proactive patient care. Developed during PalmettoHacks 2026, the prototype integrates clinical search, evidence-linked AI analysis, personalized audio briefings, and simulated wearable monitoring.

Camellia Healthcare Management System

Project Overview

Camellia began with conversations with healthcare professionals about fragmented patient records, overlooked clinical information, and delayed communication between care teams. Our team developed a functional prototype to explore how AI and connected devices could support more proactive, informed patient care.

What I've Done:

  • Unified Clinical Search: Centralized access to synthetic patient records and clinical histories, designed for future interoperability with existing EHR systems.
  • Evidence-Linked Clinical Flags: Gemini-assisted analysis highlights potentially overlooked patterns without making diagnoses. Findings link directly to supporting documentation for clinician verification.
  • Proactive Care Coordination: Role-based dashboards and specialized obstetric anesthesia alerts help teams identify patients who may require advance planning.
  • Smart Patient Monitoring: A simulated wearable system automatically records encounter-specific observations and generates nursing alerts for mobility, repositioning, and potential falls.
